LA FARGA has participated actively in the development of urban transport in the Iberian Peninsula by integrating the complete production process - smelting, pouring, laminating and drawing - for the range of products necessary for railway electrification. An added feature is La Farga's commitment to responding to the growing needs of the public in terms of movement, while at the same time showing the utmost respect for the environment, the urban landscape and heritage.
As a result of this, we have collaborated on a host of benchmark projects in Spain and around the world. The latest in the area of underground lines and light railways is the 12.8 km long Zaragoza Tram with a total of 25 stations. Another major project is the L9 underground line in Barcelona, designed to connect the cities of Badalona and El Prat de Llobregat via 43 miles of tunnel under the city. These are clear examples of our activity in the sector.
Lastly, on an international level, we have experience in 16 countries, especially our collaboration on the L12 underground line in Mexico City and the Santo Domingo Metro.
In order to improve our materials, LA FARGA is working with METRO MADRID in R & D projects with our EVELEC contact wire, a high performance alloy designed to be a tool of great value in the electrification of railways.
